Preparation of Blue tea
The preparation of Blue tea is very simple and it can be enjoyed both hot and cold.
- 1 cup of boiled water
- 2-3 tsp dried butterfly-blue pea
- Honey or sugar to taste
Pour boiled water in a cup. Add dried flower petals in it and cover it with a lid. Rest it for about 10 minutes, until the water turns indigo and the tea leaves turn colourless. Strain the tea; add honey or sugar to taste. Your cup of blue tea is ready to drink.
You can also take it as a cool and refreshing summer drink. Add lemon juice of a half lemon and crushed ice to the prepared tea. And marvel at the changing colour.
However, to date scientifically validated value-added products from blue pea flowers are very limited worldwide. It is just waiting to gain popularity like green tea in the health world.
